Event Details

On 4 June 2021, the European Commission issued modernised Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under the GDPR for data transfers from controllers or processors in the EU/EEA (or otherwise subject to the GDPR) to controllers or processors established outside the EU/EEA in countries which are not be deemed to offer adequate legislation to the European legislation.
By 27 December 2022, the new SCCs need to be incorporated into all international data transfer agreements, irrespective of when these agreements were concluded. Any existing agreements incorporating the former SCCs need to be replaced by this date.
Failing to comply with these requirements may lead to financial sanctions held by competent European Data protection authorities up to 4% of annual turnover of European Companies: pressure is on them to update the SCCs with their non-European providers or partners to avoid such sanctions.

This workshop will describe the actions to be taken to make your international data transfers to be compliant before the end of 2022.
