S+C University Day

TGS Global member, S+C Partners developed and launched S+C University Day four years ago, as the Partners strongly believe in the value of ongoing education to better serve clients and develop team members.

Every September, S+C University Day is a full day of professional development for the entire firm that allows team members to learn and grow in general areas, as well as in their area of practice or specialty.

The day is divided in half, with morning programming relevant to everyone, and afternoon programming that is generally more practice-specific. The first part of the day always includes presentations by the Managing Partner, the HR team, and the IT team. This year’s HR and IT presentations both focused on meeting some of the challenges involved with working remotely. After lunch, everyone breaks into one of three groups to attend a focused seminar of their choosing, before coming back together for a final presentation on a general topic of interest.

This year’s event concluded with a presentation by an Associate Partner on “Top Five Tax Planning Ideas and How to Implement Them.”

TGS Global is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, committed to sustainable development, quality education and lifelong learning.

S+C University Day has traditionally been an in-person event occurring at an off-site location. This year it was presented remotely via Zoom due to Covid-19 restrictions and precautions.

TGS Global member S+C Partners has a long history of hiring Co-op students. In fact, many of our client service partners and client service managers are former Co-op graduates who started their professional careers at S+C Partners.

All of our Co-op students are given the opportunity to provide comprehensive client service, and our engagement team continuity fosters and encourages each student to learn and expand their responsibilities. Our team of accountants and advisors will work with you to continue your learning and development outside of the classroom and help you achieve your ultimate goal of becoming a CPA.

For those Co-op students who stay on with us full-time as CPA students, we also provide financial support for CPA preparatory courses and exams, offer forgivable loans to help fund a qualifying Masters of Accounting degree, and provide financial support for you to later pursue other specialized professional development and chartered designations.
