TGS Annual Conference in Toronto

Events

15th – 18th November 2017

60 TGS delegates from 40 firms around the globe attended Toronto’s Royal York Hotel for the four-day TGS Global conference under the banner of “One Team One Colour.”

Kalin McDonald from S+C Partners, the hosts for the 2017 TGS Global conference, gave an opening address about the Canadian economic environment and the taxation of inbound investments into Canada.

Key themes of this year’s global conference:

How to Attract and Retain Talent

Olivier Oullieé, an international business leader, gave a dynamic and entertaining presentation and workshop about developing deeper and more durable relationships with clients, potential clients and colleagues. We come away with real solutions to rethink sales, customer experience, working more efficiently and learned that work can and should be serious fun.

Developing Human Value

TGS France gave a presentation about and demonstration of a powerful HR tool called VHA (Developing Human Value).  The tool analyses work styles and preferences of staff so that working objectives and tasks can be optimised for maximum employee satisfaction and company development. Most members had their case analysed and were very impressed by the results and possibilities in the tool.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset

The development of advisory services is going a key to future success and profitability. With this in mind, Chris Mason, founder of Mindshop, led a captivating and inspiring workshop about the Entrepreneurial Mindset and how to accelerate sales in our firms. Chris was also present to launch the inaugural TGS Advisory Committee Working Group.

Creating High-Performing Teams

This year we had an extra-special keynote speaker in Toronto FC coach Greg Vanney.  Greg explained how he had managed to create a high performing team and how he inherited and then turned around and underperforming team to create a Major League Soccer powerhouse. The theory and practice behind his success and the parallels between TGS development were startling.

We dined above the observation deck of the CN Tower for spectacular view of Toronto by night, we travelled to Niagara Falls and ate lunch (and tasted wine) at the idyllic Peller Estates Winery.

Next year the conference will be on the theme of “‘Blockchain” in the futuristic smart-city, Dubai.
