TGS Member Interview – Alberto Cantarello, Managing Director at Athena (Italy)
EuropeInterview
Q1: Can you introduce yourself, your firm, and where you are based?
I’m Alberto Cantarello, Chartered Accountant and Managing Director at Athena, a multidisciplinary law and advisory firm based in Turin, Italy. We support entrepreneurs and international companies across legal, tax, accounting, payroll, audit, and corporate matters. Our approach is simple: listen deeply, bring order to chaos, and deliver useful, concrete solutions—even when they’re not the easiest ones. We share a practical, client-value mindset focused on making a measurable difference.

Q2: You attended the Brussels Conference — what was the most valuable takeaway from that experience?
Brussels turned big ideas into immediate actions. Three things stood out:
-
EU regulation as opportunity.
As I said there, “Alex created a link between EU institutions and my daily job. He made concrete something that is often considered far from us.” -
Storytelling over ‘corporate-speak’.
Meaningful communication always beats jargon. -
ESG and nature.
Reframing ESG from a burden into a value creator—and seeing how small “nature” habits can boost team performance.
Q3: What are you most looking forward to at the Bangkok Conference? What do you hope to gain or achieve there?
Q4: Why is it important for TGS members to attend these conferences? How do events like this help your firm, your clients, and the wider TGS community?
Because relationships are the real multiplier.
We’re humans, not AI. We are social animals.
These conferences forge the professional and human bonds that make cross-border work faster and safer. Meeting after meeting, we add another root to our connections: deeper trust, clearer standards, smoother referrals.
For my firm, that means fewer surprises and better coordination.
For clients, it means consistent, joined-up advice across jurisdictions.
For TGS, it strengthens a culture of practical collaboration and shared visibility.
Q5: What would you say to members who are considering joining a future TGS conference?
Bring three real client challenges, take messy notes—better if with mind maps—and commit to one small win per week for three months. Perfection can wait—done on time beats perfect too late.
